Events Management

The Event Management Intern will play an integral role in the planning, execution and evaluation of the The Tree of Health Center's (TTOHC) wellness and sustainability activities, celebrating our second year anniversary as we roll out our new branding and web site. The Event Management Intern will work with the teams responsible for putting together detailed plans to execute a full line-up of events. The candidate must be able to work independently. The event organizer is hands-on and will require working as part of a team. You will need to complete a wide range of activities requiring clear, effective communication, critical thinking, excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. You must be able to work well under pressure, make decisions and ensure the smooth and efficient running of an event. Additional responsibilities will include, but are not limited to fund raising, identification and communication with TTOHC sponsors, vendors, and event staff, and other duties as assigned. This position will report to the Director and Partner of The Tree of Health Center and will attend meetings as requested by them. Ideal candidate will possess a desire to be involved with natural healing practices and education within the worldwide community.

The internship is unpaid, but an extensive amount can be taken from this experience. An internship in the events management field is a great way to get a jumpstart on your career and gain tangible working knowledge. Your experience at The Tree of Health Center will enhance your résumé as well as provide a platform for launching a successful career in Events Management. Responsibilities

  • Planning, coordination, and management of TTOHC events
  • Coordination with event partners and partner staff
  • Managing a budget
  • Working with a team to obtain proper permits
  • Working with a team to plan and execute all logistical items for the events
  • Working with a team to organize media, sponsors and vendors
  • Working with a team to coordinate staffing and volunteer requirements
  • Prepare logistic documents for all vendors
  • Day of event management
  • Post event evaluation
  • All other duties approved by supervisor
  • Conceptualization (visualizing the ideas of others as well as their own)
  • Follow TTOHC, LLC company policies
  • Contribute to TTOHC’s success by assisting with or leading other projects and tasks as assigned

Requirements

  • Pursuing a degree, certification or recent graduate in communication management and design; cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above
  • Must be at least 18 years old and have transportation
  • Strong passion for Event Management
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment
  • Highly organized, self motivated, energetic and dependable team player
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task and take design direction
  • Strong work ethic and acute attention to detail
  • Excellent grammatical, spelling, proofreading abilities
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications, Internet, and e-mail applications
  • 7-10 hours weekly; actual hours may vary depending upon requirements of the position/event, etc.; Evening and weekend hours may be required; we will accommodate prospective intern's schedule as best as possible
  • Ability to attend bi-weekly business meetings
